sACRo - Series of Ayurveda case reports online

Moderation: HP Elmar Stapelfeldt

Year: 2019

The sACRo project goes into the test phase! Already at the last two symposia this online register for the collection and evaluation of Ayurveda cases was discussed among experts and advanced in the form of workshops. The database should offer Ayurveda practitioners the possibility to research well documented Ayurveda cases and use them for difficult therapeutic questions. Series of similar cases will be scientifically evaluated and published and can serve as a basis for larger research projects.

The implementation is mainly carried out by the two project partners Charité Universitätsmedizin Berlin and Rosenberg European Academy for Ayurveda (REAA). Thanks to the financial support of the professional associations VEAT and DÄGAM as well as REAA, it was possible in the last two years to carry out the necessary preparatory and research work and to get the database up and running.
In an expert survey (lime-survey) 4 suitable clinical pictures were identified for which the database will be used in the pilot phase (irritable bowel syndrome, arthrosis, rheumatoid arthritis, exhaustion). Last year the work on the questionnaires (input masks) for the individual clinical pictures was used. The challenges for this conceptual work were high. The questions and parameters had to 1. reflect the aspects relevant in medical practice - both from an Ayurvedic and orthodox medical perspective - 2. meet international scientific criteria and 3. at the same time require only a minimum of time for input.

If you have experience in the practical application of Ayurveda as a doctor or alternative practitioner, you are invited to participate in this expert forum! First of all, the coordinator Elmar Stapelfeldt together with Dr. med. Marisa Hübner, who has dedicated her master thesis to the project, will present the current state of sACRo in a picture-rich way. This will be followed by a demonstration of the database functions by the programmer Max Stapelfeldt. This should make it easier to use the database in the test phase. We are dependent on constructive feedback from experts for the optimization of the database and hope for lively discussions.
Take part in this innovative, practice-oriented research project!
