Rasayana is the section that explicitly refers to the topics of rejuvenation and longevity. Aging is generally considered to be biologically and chronologically inevitable. However, in recent years, groundbreaking findings in modern science have thrown this assumption into question. In 2009, Dr. Elizabeth Blackburn et al. was awarded the Nobel Prize for the discovery of the enzyme telomerase, which can halt and even reverse ageing processes in certain tissues.
