The treatment of Agni with Marma points »

Year: 2022
Language: English, German

The marma points are described in the classical ayurvedic texts in different ways according to the various authors.

But it is Suśruta who gives us the most detail about the nature of the points, their vulnerability, structure, composition etc. Suśruta devoted an entire chapter to the marma points (Pratyeka marma nirdeśa). However, we find nothing in the classical texts about the possibility of acting and treating the points themselves.

Over time, different experts in the field of  yurveda have experimented and proposed different techniques. What is proposed in this workshop is one of the many possibilities of acting on the marma points. We must not forget, however, that the classical definition of a marma point is 'Marāyanti iti marmani' and thus clearly indicates that one must respect the points as seats of Prāṇa, so the treatment must act in that sense, sensitively and carefully.

In this workshop, a treatment techniques of the Marma points will be proposed through a precise sequence in order to stimulate and connect the points according to a defined treatment logic.

The aim is to act on Agni and also on Pitta in different ways by observing the possible relationships with the Mahābhūta and sub-doṣa.

After a short introductory theoretical part, we will continue with the careful and attentive search for the chosen marma points. There will be a preparation technique for the treatment and then the participants will have the opportunity to receive and experience the treatment.

The work will be done in pairs.

Everyone will thus have the opportunity to experiment directly. Comfortable clothing is recommended; the work will be done on treatment beds.
